Real Adventure
This is no amusement park ride - you're heading into a real, undeveloped natural cave. That's why you'll be dressed head-to-toe in high-quality caving equipment and teamed up with one of our experienced cave guides.
Year-Round, Rain or Shine
The Cave is 5°C - always. There's no rain, no wind, no snow and no sun, so we can explore the cave any day of the year. TLDR: We almost never cancel because of weather.
A Complete Experience
Whether you're looking for thrilling high-adventure, peaceful solitude, or anything in between, you'll find it here. Explore, unwind, and learn – all in one unforgettable journey.

My family and I did the Adventure Tour, and we had a blast! Despite our varying ages (25–75) and physical capacities, our tour guide, Tamara, made sure that we all survived Rats Nest Cave, and better yet, left with a smile. The 18-meter rappel section was definitely the highlight of the tour for us, but the laundry chute was also pretty cool. For us, the hike up to the cave was the most strenuous portion of the tour, especially since we went on a rather cold winter day. Despite this, there were still quite a few good physical challenges inside the cave, especially on the way out.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience with Canmore Cave Tours. I would highly recommend their Adventure or Explorer (slightly easier) tours for anyone who wants a more unique caving experience. While there will definitely be challenges along the way, as long as you keep an open mind and try your best, you will have a lot of fun, and maybe a few bruises.

My friend and I did the 4 hour adventure tour guided by Annie (sp?) and she is amazing! She is not only incredibly skilled, knowledgeable and experienced but hilarious and added to the experience. Overall, a fantastic and unique experience. I’d recommend for anyone looking for an adventure and to test some fears. You won’t have to do anything out of your comfort zone but you get opportunities to test that comfort zone in a great way.

This was my favourite tour in a long, long time. Where so many tours are watered down experiences and frankly boring, the Canmore Cave Tour is a somewhat "raw" and completely exhilarating experience. Super safe but super fun. Annie was a great guide and we appreciated the care this company takes of the cave.

An amazing experience! Not for the faint of heart but perfect for those full of adventure! Our tour guide John was fantastic, professional, reassuring, and confident! It was an amazing way to spend a day in the dark!!!! The climb up to the entrance is long and steep, but our tour guide and fellow cavers were more than generous and stops were fine along the way. Every stop had gorgeous vistas to photo and John was filled with knowledge and entertained us all! From the very start there are challenging descents or climbs, and many squeezes, but I found it extremely enjoyable, I am 6'2" and 300 lbs. if you have the upper body strength to lift yourself, and your legs are up to the trek, you will be fine! I was not able to do the laundry chute or the waterslide due to the super tight squeezes, but my wide and the others in our party all managed it, and there is an alernate route around any part of the tour you might not fit, or feel up to challlending. The Rapel was amazing! and if I can do it, you can too!

The tour itself is mind-blowing. John did a very good job entertaining us and telling very interesting stories. I couldn’t even imagine such a beautiful and unique pleasure we are living in. I am used to trail running in the mountains, but I could never imagine that I would see where they are growing from. Even though I am very scared of heights, I felt so safe and secure during the tour. John even let us crawl into really tight tunnels.
My friend said (his words) that it was the best day of his life after his wedding. Even though he has done sky jumping and is quite outdoorsy. I would say it is such an underrated tour. I honestly don’t know why not many people know about it.

Annie was a great guide and a nice person. Challenging and memorable day. They had a good preparation suggestion to skip coffee that morning because it was a long time to wait to go to the bathroom. Slept like a "rock" that night!

Amaaazing adventure 🫶! Loved it!
I took the Adventurous Tour — we started around 10:15 am and finished about 4 pm. We met at the office, tried on our overalls and gloves, grabbed our gear, drove a short distance, and then hiked about 30–40 minutes up Grotto Mountain. At the shelter, we had some snacks, got fully geared up, and headed off to the caves.
We spent about 3.5 to 4 hours inside, and it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted! We rappelled about 20 meters into the dark, squeezed through the “Laundry Chute,” and explored so many cool spots. It was so peaceful and full of great memories.
Since it was shoulder season, there were only five of us — we had the whole cave to ourselves! Our guide, John, was patient and full of amazing stories about wildlife and geology. Wouldn’t change a thing. Highly recommend — thank you!🫶🫶🫶
