unEarthed | Bringing the Stories to Light
Rat's Nest Cave has a unique story to share with each and every one of its visitors. Its sculpted passages, massive spaces and ancient formations excite a sense of wonder while setting the imagination aflame.
unEarthed seeks to explore the different ways we connect with the Earth and its darkest places beyond the realm of adventure. The physicality of moving through the cave is only a part of the story.
The cave is a blank canvas; a limitless opportunity to speak to any and all of our senses. Be it in darkness or light, silence or sound, your story of the cave is waiting to be told.
Join prairie songstress Raine Hamilton and quixotic rambler Brett Nelson for a once-in-a-lifetime performance deep in the Heart of Rat's Nest Cave, near Canmore, Alberta.
The pair combine the open resonance of the prairie with the raw, exposed edges of the mountains; Their songs are connected with the land, drawn from lived experience, and created from the inside out. The result is a moving, honest, and nostalgic acoustic experience over 10 stories under the Earth. Expect to leave with a full heart, smiling face, and tapping toes.
Our Adventure Tour is our flagship tour and has been recognized as a Canadian Signature Experience. The longest tour we offer in Rat’s Nest Cave. Rappel, squeeze and crawl through this amazing wild cave!
The Explorer Tour may be our shortest cave tour, but it is by no means short on fun and excitement. 2 hours underground crawling past prehistoric bones, investigating our ancient cave formations and even squeezing into places (if you so choose of course!).
A family friendly interpretive hike designed to introduce our guests to the incredible history of the Bow Valley. Highlights of the tour include “catch and release” fossil hunting, wildlife tracking, and a short visit to the entrance of Rat’s Nest Cave.
