Driving Directions to the Meeting Place
We meet our clients at The Canmore Sweatshop – a local embroidery business. There is parking out front or on the street – larger vehicles are best parked on the street. The Canmore Sweatshop offers energy snacks and drinks at a nominal cost; washrooms; t-shirts, water bottles and other merchandise; plus the cave book – Rats Nest Cave. You will meet your guide here, sign the waiver and then head out to the cave only 6 km away.
From Calgary: Distance is 120 km. Allow 1.5 hours travel time.
Drive west (Banff) on Highway 1 (Trans Canada Hwy) from Calgary and take exit 91 - Canmore 1A then follow the Bow Valley Trail (1A) towards the town centre. Proceed through the round-a-about and take the next right at Kananaskis Way – there is a Chrysler Dealership on the corner. The Canmore Sweatshop is located in the small mall (Highwood Village) on your left near the top of the street: Suite 107-112 Kananaskis Way, there’s a sign in the window for Canmore Cave Tours.
From Banff: Distance is 22 km. Allow 30 minutes travel time.
Drive east (Calgary) on Highway 1 (Trans Canada Hwy) from Banff and take exit 89 – “Canmore Town Centre”. Turn right onto Benchlands Trail then turn left at the traffic lights onto Bow Valley Trail. Go past the Radisson Hotel and turn left onto Kananaskis Way – there is a Chrysler Dealership on the corner. The Canmore Sweatshop is located in the small mall (Highwood Village) on your left near the top of the street: Suite 107-112 Kananaskis Way, there’s a sign in the window for Canmore Cave Tours.
